Resting makes you stronger.

It’s been a while I appreciate! I have actually had a bit of an injury and illness, as well as job change and taking on another huge motorcycle event to organise, so unfortunately it has left me with very little time to devote to Iron Warriors Lifting website and blog!

I haven’t been to the gym due to a possible fractured lower back, so I had to give it plenty of rest and wait until I was fully pain free and recovered before I hit the weights again. Although there is minor pain still when pressure is applied it’s almost back to normal, I still have to avoid lifts such as squats and deadlifts for a while which I am pretty bummed about because they are my fave! I must first make sure my health isn’t effected by my training.

I always feel pretty rubbish if I have a long stint away from gym life and it makes it really difficult to back to it. I was mentally prepared to go back today though and pre work out helped!

Surprisingly I haven’t lost too much strength and got a new PB on arnold presses with a whopping 18kg dumbbells. That was certainly enough to dispell any dissapointment I had in myself.

My goal this time around is to build up my upper body strength, it’s always been a slower progression for me because I just love leg day so much! Of course I’ll still be working the legs hard because I’ve lost 2 inches on them, I’m pretty sure they’ll grow back quick enough.

Anyway, that’s just a little update on where I am and what I’m doing so you know I haven’t dissappeared off the face of the earth 🙂
